ICONIC KINETIC ART INSTALLED IN BOYNTON BEACH
Kinetic artworks for the February 6-8, 2015 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium
Art in Public Places coordinated the installation of the iconic kinetic artworks along the streets in east Boynton Beach. that included:
#11 Geospire by Tom Brewitz, of Minnesota located at 306 East Ocean Avenue.
#7 Bloomer Tree by Edwin Cheong of Singapore.
# 2 Lyric by Lin Emery of Louisiana located at the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum, 128 E. Ocean Ave.
# 4 Singing Fish by Craig Gray of Key West located at 123 E. Ocean Ave.
# 3 Transcending Tides by Jeff Kahn of Pennsylvania located at 125 E. Ocean Ave.
# 6 Pi in the Sky by Jeff Kahn of Pennsylvania located in City Hall Parking lot, 100 E. Boynton Beach Blvd.
# 10 Sun Bug by Rein Triefeldt of New Jersey located at 213 E. Ocean Ave.
# 8 Sun Tattler by Paul Daniel of Maryland located in front of City Hall, 100 E. Boynton Beach Blvd.
# 12 Red Eye by Paul Daniel of Maryland located at 412 E. Ocean Ave.
# 13 Twist By Ralfonso located at 480 E. Ocean Ave.
#9 Master in Action by Jerzy Kedziora located corner of NE 1st St and E. Ocean Ave.
# 14 The Clipster by Bill Woods of Virginia locate in Dewey Park 480 NE 4th St.
Most of the artwork will be powered by the wind with one powered by solar and another by human interaction.
These kinetic artworks will be on exhibit along S. Seacrest Blvd. and E. Ocean Ave. for one year.
The International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium was created by the Boynton Beach Arts Commission and produced by the City of Boynton Beach through its Art in Public Places program. It’s supported by; Equity One, Inc., Kinetic Art Organization (KAO), International Sculpture Center, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Buffalo Wild Wings, Boca Bearings, Hacklab, Solartree Project, Coastal Star, Neighborhood Gallery, Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and Learning Center, The Secret Garden Cafe and the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available. The FREE biennial event is created to connect the public to one-of-a-kind visual experiences.
